| History
CUI Inc was founded in Beaverton, Oregon in 1989 by James McKenzie. Started as a joint venture between Mr. McKenzie and a Japanese electronics firm, CUI quickly grew its customer base and expanded its product line. The company was built on a foundation of hard work, respect, and mutual trust. Over the past 20 years, CUI has become a recognized name worldwide in the areas of power, interconnect, motion control, and sound. In that time, the company has been able to leverage many long-standing relationships in Asia to create a flexible, responsive business model that ultimately benefits CUI customers. International offices have been added over the past 7 years to provide additional support, with design and sales locations coming on line in Sweden, China, and most recently, Japan. In 2008, CUI Inc was purchased and incorporated as a wholly owned subsidiary of Waytronx, Inc. (OTC BB: WYNX.OB), a leading provider of openly licensable advanced systems cooling solutions. This transition has offered CUI access to new sources of capital, allowing a more aggressive move toward new technologies and highly innovative products.
