CUI Continues Support of STEM Outreach Programs as a Supplier of the FIRST® Robotics Competition

CUI Inc announced today that it has once again partnered with FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), an international, K-12 not-for-profit organization founded by inventor Dean Kamen to inspire young people’s interest and participation in science and technology.

CUI provided its innovative and flexible AMT103-V encoder kits for the FIRST Robotics Competition playing field and the 2016 FIRST Robotics Competition Kit of Parts which was distributed to more than 3,100 teams of high-school students on Jan. 9, 2016.

“Our job at FIRST is to develop the next generation of problem solvers who need skills in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to solve the world’s biggest challenges,” said FIRST President Donald E. Bossi. “We do this by offering a project-based learning experience with the support of companies like CUI. With its generous support, we are able to supply young innovators with the tools they need to get a jump on successful careers in STEM.”

“CUI is passionate about supporting and mentoring our future engineers through STEM outreach programs such as FIRST,” stated Jeff Smoot, VP of Application Engineering and Motion Control. “By providing our AMT103-V encoder kits to this respected program, CUI is putting the latest technology into the hands of students and instilling real-world skills that they can carry into the workplace.”
