CUI Inc today announced its fourth straight year of support of FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), an international, K-12 not-for-profit organization founded to inspire young people’s interest and participation in science and technology.
CUI donated its innovative and flexible AMT103-V encoder kits to the 2018 FIRST Robotics Competition Kit of Parts which were distributed to 3,660 teams of high-school students. The FIRST Robotics Competition is an annual competition with more than 91,000 participants worldwide designed to get students involved in science, technology, engineering, and math, while discovering the rewards those careers have to offer. The season of competitions recently concluded with two successful 2018 FIRST Championship events in Houston, Texas, April 18-21, 2018, and Detroit, Michigan, April 25-28, 2018.
“Our job at FIRST is to develop the next generation of problem solvers who need STEM and digital literacy skills to solve the world’s biggest challenges,” said FIRST President Donald E. Bossi. “We do this by offering a project-based learning experience with the generous support of companies like CUI Inc. With its generous support, we are able to supply young innovators with the tools they need to get a jump on successful careers.”
“Congratulations to all of the FRC teams on another great season of competition, team building, and engineering robots,” stated Jeff Smoot, VP of Application Engineering and Motion Control. “We are always glad to be a part of the FIRST Robotics Competition and look forward to continuing that support with our AMT encoders next year!”
