CUI Announces IEC 60601-1 3rd Edition Certifications
for Medical Power Supply Line


As of July 1st, devices seeking medical safety certification in the US must be approved to the requirements of the updated IEC 60601-1 3rd edition standard. CUI announced that its range of medical power supplies has received IEC 60601-1 3rd edition medical safety certifications for both the US and Europe. The certifications, covering 17 product families ranging from 15 W to 400 W, apply to the most stringent 2 x MOPP rating, easing the compliance process for designers of medical devices.

CUI has introduced a family of low-power board mount dc-dc converters that provides 3000 Vdc I/O isolation and an ultra-wide operating temperature range of -40~105°C for the most demanding applications. The unregulated PEM series is the latest addition to CUI’s second-generation low power dc-dc converter line and has been specifically designed to improve efficiency and thermal performance in the customer’s application.

Next Generation 500 mA Dc Switching Regulator Series

P7805-S Series

CUI has released its 2nd generation non-isolated dc switching regulator series rated at 500 mA. The company’s new P7805-S series implements several upgrades, including an increased power density, efficiency improvements and a decrease in ripple and noise, all at a lower per unit cost.

- Pin comparable to LM78 and LM79 linear regulators

- Wider input range

- Suited for negative output applications

Dc-Dc Converter is Designed to Power IGBT Gate Drivers

VQA Series

CUI has launched a line of board mount dc-dc converters for IGBT gate drivers. Devices in the VQA series provide short circuit protection with 3000 Vac input to output isolation (4242 Vdc), and are ideally suited to provide a fully isolated gate drive for both industrial and clean energy applications, such as wind turbines and solar panels.
