CUI Inc announced today that it has again joined forces with FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), an international, K-12 not-for-profit organization aiming to inspire young people’s interest and participation in science and technology.
CUI donated its innovative and flexible AMT103-V encoder kits for the FIRST Robotics Competition playing field as a part of the FIRST Choice program, where the AMT encoder kits and parts are made available to 3,336 teams of high-school students. The FIRST Robotics Competition is an annual competition that helps students to discover the excitement of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) and the rewards a career in STEM can bring.
“Our job at FIRST is to develop the next generation of problem solvers who need skills in STEM to solve the world’s biggest challenges,” said FIRST President Donald E. Bossi. “We do this by offering a project-based learning experience with the support of companies like CUI. With its generous support, we are able to supply young innovators with the tools they need to get a jump on successful careers in STEM.”
“Supporting the next generation of scientists and engineers is tremendously important to CUI and there is no better way to reach them than through FIRST,” stated Matt McKenzie, CUI’s President. “As always, we are happy to be able to provide our AMT103-V encoder kits to the FIRST Robotics Competition and wish all of the teams success in 2017,” McKenzie concluded.
