Power Supplies Support Large Peak Loads

There are many electronic applications in which the peak power requirement is far greater than the average power requirement. Some examples of these applications include starting motors, charging capacitors, quickly heating objects, intermittent test loads, strobing lights, and bursts of sound. CUI's innovative Power Boost feature offers an ideal solution for these applications by providing twice the rated power for up to 10 seconds. Doubling the rated current means these internal ac-dc products can support large transient loads, allowing you to design for nominal rather than peak power.

In order to purchase a Power Boost variant the suffix '-PB' must be appended to the CUI catalog number. See the part number key in the datasheet for details.
